A wee bit of relaxing and a late Tattoo Tuesday

Currently listening to:

Another post! Despite still settling into working these crummy crummy shifts, I thought I would do another post. Yesterday at work I got a blister on my foot...but then again I also got a glass of champagne. Anyways today was my day off. Unfortunately I agreed to babysit for my other cousin's 4 year old son so I had an early wake up. I was a little worried but the day went pretty well and I was actually quite productive! A little list of the tasks I accomplished today:
  • Early wake up (it's a task for me!)
  • Laundry
  • Making breakfast for myself and my cousin who was working from home for the day
  • Washing pots and dishes
  • Cleaning the stove top
  • Cooking up some lunch
  • Tidying up a big mess of toys
  • I also managed to get Richard to do a bit of homework before taking him to the park
1. Scrambled eggs with chives, spinach, cheddar and croissant for breakfast
2. Super nice day, so the laundry went out
3. Grilled zuchinni, onions, ham and onions rings for lunch
4. Winding down with some Toy Story 2

5. Much needed drinks after work on Friday at M&T
6. Monday outfit (for work, tends to be uber basic)

Tattoo Tuesday. Day late but better than nothing.
Just a random mix of some of my favorites that I've saved on my hard drive. Sadly again I didn't save the sources but mostly from we heart it.

Also, I miss this kid. My sister's spoiled pom, Muk Muk.

Oh hello exhaustion

Currently listening to The Appleseed Cast - Middle States

It's been a bit of a hectic week or two so it's been a little while since my last post. I'm crazy exhausted but I thought I would sneak in a post while I have my uber late dinner (10pm). I finally have a bit of income, back to the world of retail slavery. So far, work has been a little rough. I feel as though I've been spoiled in Canada. Need some more time to adjust or at least time to find a new job. Now it's time to start looking for a flat, and I've been told places get picked up quickly here. Also need to start planning some trips away (I keep saying this).

Currently...
1. Reading Breakfast of Champions by Kurt Vonnegut (it's a little depressing so it's taking awhile to finish)
2. Watching Benjamin Button. Such a long movie, had to split it up over two nights.
3. Listening to Bombay Bicycle Club. Oh so good, addicted even before I moved here and found out they were British. Also sad their show is sold out.

And a few pictures from the week...
1. Tuesday breakfast. Bagel with cream cheese, smoke salmon, scrambled eggs and tea.
2. Tuesday lunch. Needed a Korean food fix. Soon du boo ji gae. Mediocre but did the trick.
3. Tuesday dinner. Pasta and potato in cream sauce with chorizo salami, spinach, tomatoes, and cheese (whatever I could find really). Served with Strongbow and a side of babysitting.

1. Ebay purchases. Gap boys jacket, £6. Marks & Spencer girls coat, £11.
2. My 'work uniform' for the day. Boy's pink/red chinos! It's spring.

That's all for now. Will try to post again soon.

*Also found out DVF is launching in the UK as well. Just at a later date (March 28).

DVF for Gap Kids

Currently listening to Eight and a Half - Go Ego (via the peak)

How much do I wish I was in Canada at the moment? ALOT. The DVF line for Gap kids is out today and only available in Canada and the US. I'm trying to think of how I can somehow nab a few pieces. I still regret not getting anything when Stella McCartney did a line for Gap. Anyways, I'm loving all the green pieces and the espadrilles. I want I want I want.

*Update: I caved in and ordered the green espadrilles and the sneakers on the website. Some of the cuter items are already sold out so I got in on the action. Wanted to see if I could get a staff discount, but no luck. They're going to be shipped to my parent's so I won't get to enjoy them for awhile.

see the whole line here

Unrelated to DVF, here are some food pictures to feed your eyes. My cousin and I went a little cheese crazy the other day at the supermarket. Loving the Mexicana cheddar, so hot and spicy, it's a fiesta in my mouth. Also whipped up a pasta/potato salad for lunch yesterday. Today, jacket potato with mexicana cheddar and salad. Mmm mmm.

Life of the unemployed continued

Currently listening to We Are Scientists - Nobody move, nobody gets hurt (oldie but a goodie)

It's week number 5 of living in the UK. Starting to get warmer and I need to start planning some getaways. Anyways, here are a few pictures from the last few days.

1. Jimmy rocking the Batman shirt with detachable cape that I got for him
2. Zara sweater / Gap hoodie / Chapters tote / H&M top / H&M dress / H&M tights / Locale boots / Banana Republic necklace / Asos beanie
3. Friday night @ Underworld
4. Saturday breakfast at a park and stroll around Shoreditch
5. Afternoon snack. Is it weird that I really enjoy ice cream and fries together?

Also very much enjoying this Bon Iver session. Hadn't seen much of Sean with the band since he's been doing his solo project so super happy to see him in this session.

Currently listening to Bombay Bicycle Club - Shuffle

Tuesday. Tuesday. Tuesday.
Tattoo. Tattoo. Tattoo.
Thigh. Thigh. Thigh.
Today's tattoos are some very lovely thigh tattoos. It's cause I'm thinking of getting ink done on my thigh next. All images were found on weheartit.

There go the kids, the have-nots

Currently listening to The Black Keys - Nova Baby

It was insane how nice the weather was yesterday. My cousin and I had lunch in the beer garden at one of the pubs in our town. When we got back it had only gotten sunnier so I took her recommendation on pulling out a chair onto the back patio. She made me a cuppa tea as I set up my seat and pushed the start up button on my laptop.
That top photo is my current closet. I had to do some major downsizing to my wardrobe since I was only able to bring over one suitcase. I am the worst packer and I get super stressed about it. Surprisingly I came in underweight, not surprisingly I left a few essentials back home. My shrunken wardrobe is making me want to shop loads. I need restraint considering I don't have income at the moment.
Yesterday was also the first Thursday of the month, which means art gallery openings...which also means free beer. My friends and I roamed the alley ways of Shoreditch in search of said free beer. We were quite successful, even finding free chips and guacamole while checking out some pricey art. The free beer started running low and before long we were also starting to get drunk due to our empty stomachs. We made one last stop at El Paso for a bite and proceeded to call it a night.
